The scholarship will be presented to one military (Active, Reserve, or National Guard) member who exemplifies a commitment to educational and personal growth, a dedication to serving their community and nation, and a strong determination to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Eligibility

  • Waldorf will grant one scholarship to one military member (active, guard, reserves).
    • Per the DOD MOU, Waldorf-provided aid may not be used by active-duty military currently using Tuition Assistance (TA). Service members may utilize this institutional aid instead of Tuition Assistance, but TA and institutional aid cannot be combined within the same term at Waldorf. For Veterans using VA benefits, institutional aid may be applied to tuition before VA benefits.
  • Scholarship applicants must have a high school transcript or equivalent (GED).
  • Scholarship applicants must be able to maintain continuous enrollment in their degree program.
  • Scholarship applicants must have a current application for admission to Waldorf University's online programs on file or be a current online student.
  • Scholarship applicants must provide a verification document to show eligibility.
    • Acceptable verification documents include:
      • A statement of service or employment on official letterhead
      • Recommendation letter from a supervisor, commanding officer, or HR rep
      • A copy of orders or a document confirming active or reserve status (if applicable)
      • A certificate of affiliation with the National Guard or Reserve unit.
  • The scholarship recipient is required to enroll within 90 days from the date of the award notification. If the recipient does not complete enrollment within this timeframe they will lose the scholarship.
  • The scholarship recipient is required to maintain a minimum 2.0 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 graduate GPA.

Amount of Award

  • This scholarship will cover up to 60 credit hours towards one online degree program offered by Waldorf University. The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient's tuition for up to 36 consecutive months or until the completion of the selected online degree program, whichever comes first. 
  • Scholarship covers tuition only. The student is responsible for any other student fee(s).
  • One complimentary evaluation will be completed to evaluate potential transfer credits from past education and/or professional certifications. Waldorf University will also evaluate military CCAF and JST transcripts as well, if applicable. 

Submissions will be accepted from September 1 through January 31. The scholarship recipient will be announced no later than March 31. Waldorf University will attempt to coordinate a presentation at the recipient's convenience.
