The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the leading nonprofit membership association representing the interests of the volunteer fire, emergency medical, and rescue services. Founded in 1976, the NVFC provides a unified voice for the volunteer fire service on a national level and works to ensure that volunteer responders have the tools, training, and resources they need to serve their communities safely and effectively. 

Through our partnership with NVFC, Waldorf University is able to extend access to higher education to the nearly 700,000 volunteer firefighters around the US who work within the 49 state fire associations as well as to those are members on an individual or departmental basis.
