FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Waldorf University Volleyball program is announcing a change in roles within the team's coaching staff.

Associate Head Coach Matt Ebenhoe will be taking over the role of Head Volleyball Coach beginning this Spring. Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe will remain on staff as the Associate Head Coach of the team as well as continuing in her role as Assistant Professor in the Health Promotion & Exercise Science department.

In discussing the change, new Head Coach Matt Ebenhoe added, "This is a change that came about after a lot of evaluation and discussion following our 2025 season. Bri brought this idea up as a way for us to better balance and support the needs of our team, while also providing growth for us both professionally. She has done a fantastic job as the leader of this program for the past 9 seasons, and the team environment she has built is a huge reason that we are able to seamlessly make this change.

"I want to sincerely thank our Athletic Director Chad Gassman for his support and belief in the direction of this program. We are also extremely appreciative of the support of our campus leadership; President Bob Alsop, VP for Academic Affairs Mike Gatlin, and VP of Enrollment Mike Heitkamp. We also owe thanks to the entire athletic department and campus staff of Waldorf University. The Forest City community has been extremely supportive of Bri and I and the Waldorf Volleyball program during our time here. We intend to continue to build a program that represents Waldorf University's mission to educate the entire person, plays a fun and entertaining style of Volleyball, and serves as great representation of Waldorf University and the Forest City community."

Coach Bri Ebenhoe added, "We have grown to love every part of this Waldorf community, and this change allows us to serve the Warriors in the best ways possible. Matt has always been an equal in this coaching staff and has a clear vision of how we can continue to elevate athletically and academically."

Director of Athletics, Chad Gassman said, "I want to thank Coach Bri for her leadership. I'm excited for Coach Matt and the direction the staff are leading the Waldorf Volleyball program."

Head Coach Matt Ebenhoe, Associate Head Coach Bri Ebenhoe, and Assistant Coach Xavier McMillan continue to prepare for the 2026 Volleyball season with spring practices beginning in March and recruiting trips and camps from now through the summer.
