FOREST CITY, Iowa – Waldorf University is pleased to announce the hiring of Iveth Guzman as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. Coach Guzman was born and raised in Mission, Texas. She has played in United Women's Soccer (UWS) for the San Antonio Runners in 2022 and in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) for the Sioux City Sol in 2024. A graduate of Waldorf University, Coach Guzman played for the women's soccer program from 2021-2023. She led the team in goals for the 2022 season and was named Offensive Player of the Week. Before Waldorf, she attended Western Texas College.
"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Iveth Guzman back to Waldorf as our new assistant coach," Head Coach Thomas Goodman said. "As an alumna and former standout #10, Iveth brought creativity, passion, and leadership to the field – and I know she'll bring that same energy and insight to our coaching staff. She was a fantastic player during her time here, and now she's going to have an even bigger impact helping shape the next generation of Warriors."
"I'm super excited and grateful for the opportunity to be back at Waldorf," Coach Guzman said. "As an alumna, being part of the program was already an amazing experience on a personal note, so coming back as a coach is even more sweet. I'm looking forward to bringing all the energy and passion beside Dr. Goodman, winning some games, and turning this program upside down."
Coach Guzman begins immediately as the staff prepares for the team to arrive on campus.
